3rd Cinema-Less City program starts with a MaTEENee

The third Cinema-Less City program starts March 26th at the Fire station in Makarska.

The MaTEENee program for kids starts at 6:30 PM and we’ll showcase six short documentaries directed by Croatian elementary school film clubs. Two ‘world premieres’ will include “The Sun of Makarska” developed in our “Little Makarska TV” workshop organized with the Croatian Film Association in the “Lanterna” Youth Council in Makarska, which is a portrait of the Association for People with Disabilities “Sunce” from Makarska. The second is “Makarska Dawn” developed by our local elementary school film club that portrays Zorica Paunović, a rare female skipper in the traditionally male dominated profession.

At 8:30 PM we’ll screen the feature documentary “Martinac” by award winning director Zdravko Mustać. The film is a story about the legendary amateur filmmaker and avant-garde artist Ivan Martinac.

All screenings are free, the Cinema-Less City Program is organized with the partnership of The City of Makarska, Croatian Film Association, Croatian National Archive and Factum Documentary Film Project with the Volunteer Fire Department of Makarska as our hosts for the third year in a row.
